The public register allows anyone to confirm whether a practitioner holds current BCACT registration, the category in which they are registered, and whether their registration is subject to any restriction.

What the register tells you
- Whether the practitioner appears on the BCACT register, with their registration number.
- The registration category in which they are registered and their current status.
- The credentials and professional title recorded for them.
- The city in which they practise and the date they first registered, where provided.
The register is a record of professional standing. It is not a referral or recommendation service, and BCACT does not rank, endorse, or advertise individual registrants.
If you cannot find a practitioner
Practitioners sometimes register under a legal name that differs from the name they practise under, and some counsellors and therapists in British Columbia hold credentials with other bodies instead of BCACT. If a search returns no result, contact register@bcact.ca with the practitioner's full name and the city in which they practise, and we will confirm their status on the BCACT register.
